Brothers Gabe and Willie Blair grew up in the suburbs of Chicago listening to Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Misfits, and countless other artists. When Willie was 10 years old he was infatuated with Bob Dylan. At the age of 11 he was in his first band, Xiu Xiu’s Jackpot, and one of that band’s main songs was titled “Vincent Price is a Guinea Pig.” Willie went on to become a seasoned veteran of recording, jazz music and the road. The brothers decided to make a record together in 2012 and entered the studio as a duo for the first time with this set of kitschy psych folk songs. The result is a record that is both a tribute to their influences and a testament to their own unique voice.
